DALLAS– Dec. 12, 2012 – The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM), the authority on retail and multi-site facilities management, has opened registration for its national conference, ENGAGE, the largest annual gathering of retail industry facilities maintenance (FM) professionals with attendance numbering more than 2,000.

The PRSM2013 National Conference ENGAGE will be April 3-5, 2013, in Dallas at the Omni Dallas Hotel and adjoining Dallas Convention Center. Special guest presenter will be Marcus Buckingham, best-selling author and co-founder of StrengthsFinder, the personal assessment tool credited with giving “millions of individuals a new vocabulary to positively describe their ingrained talents.”

Throughout the event, attendees will be called to ENGAGE with experts and their peers for professional development and close-in networking for solutions and knowledge sharing, all supported by PRSM Association resources. View more details and register for ENGAGE at www.prsmnational.com

Educational opportunities at the annual event are organized in response to PRSM member survey responses which track the most challenging aspects of Retail Facilities Maintenance. Among the nearly 50 learning opportunities offered, sessions taught by retail industry experts and FM subject matter experts will focus on topics ranging from new trends to creating more efficient operations.  Some content will be segmented according to extra-large, large, medium, small and extra-small box retailers.

Topics supporting the ENGAGE education program will include:

  • Facilities 101 – an all new, curriculum-based overview of specific trades, including lighting, HVAC, cleaning, refrigeration, doors, gates and other critical facilities areas
  • Business Management – innovative business practices and total quality management
  • Sustainability – current environmental issues directly impacting retail facilities maintenance
  • Operations – accelerating FM skills in maintenance and operations functions
  • Executive Edge – addressing the needs of senior level professionals

According to Paul Walsh, PRSM Association Board of Directors President, “PRSM’s National Conference unites the best of the best from the retail facilities maintenance industry.  Professionals will engage in the education, which is second to none, and the business development opportunities organized with the supplier community. This event is part and parcel of PRSM’s vision to lead the industry with the resources, solutions networking and knowledge sharing that members need to be successful in today’s challenging business climate.”

PRSM Association educational programs lead the Retail Facilities Maintenance Industry with in-person training supported by webinars, conference calls and additional interactive tools available only to members.
