Deferred Maintenance
Deferred Maintenance: short term gain, long term cost?

Group Relamping
The challenge to maintain proper store lighting goes much deeper than just “keeping all the lights on.” With Nike's “reactive” program our lamps were changed as they failed; however, brand leaders were still unhappy with the lighting quality and color shifting that resulted from this process. We needed to find a cost-efficient solution to deliver consistent lighting across our fleet of stores.

Lamp Installation and Ordering
Chico's needed to save time and create efficiencies in the ordering and installation of lamps in our stores.

Lighting Maintenance Cost Reduction
Dollar Tree Stores expressed a need to reduce lighting maintenance costs associated with their store network in FY (fiscal year) 2010 in response to managements’ desire to reduce total maintenance expenditures. Dollar Tree wanted to insure that their program still met store manager and customer expectations relating to the repair of lighting outages.

Revelations in Lighting-LEDs
For every corporation that seeks to reduce its carbon emissions, there's a CFO pushing facilities management to make the LED switch.

Stocking Ballasts
Charming Shoppes was challenged to reduce facility maintenance costs, and lighting maintenance services was one of the trades in which it was a priority to do so. Store managers are responsible for ordering their own lamps and changing them throughout the store. Previously, when five or more ballasts were required, they dispatched an electrician to perform the repairs.

Building Automation Systems (BAS) Toolkit
This Toolkit is a compilation of Guides, Education, Tools and general Resources from leading manufacturers in the building automation industry. One of the most active areas of business design and retrofit encompasses all things HVAC, including control systems. Retailers spend more than $20 billion on energy every year, and even a modest reduction in energy costs can result in a significant impact on profit margins and sales metrics. BAS solutions can help FMs achieve these goals. Energy Efficiency and Smart Energy will be key focus areas for FMs in the coming years, and for your benefit there are a number of related components in this kit. Regardless of your situation, and to help you tackle these issues, PRSM Association is here to help. We hope these resources help you mange upgrades to your buildings, as well as design and construction of the retail store of the future.
