Four Interns Join DWM for Summer Internships
LATHAM, NY 6/22/2017- DWM Facilities Maintenance is excited to announce that the company earned a spot on the Albany Business Review's Top Internship List. The Top Internship list was ranked by the number of interns taken on locally in 2016. The survey area included Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington Counties.
“Our local area provides a plethora of talented students who are ready to put their educational experiences to the test in a work environment," said Caitlin McCarthy, HR Specialist.
The company’s partnerships with the area's local colleges has energized DWM’s internship program, providing high quality opportunities to students looking to gain the edge in the job market upon graduation.
"The level of professionalism and knowledge exhibited by the students makes our decisions very difficult,” said McCarthy. “We are very fortunate to have such a talented and energetic group of college students in the local area; the students bring a new level of excitement to the workplace.”
This summer, DWM welcomed four interns to their team.
Shervin Shahidizandi and Abhinay Tiwari, both from University at Albany are working alongside the company's software engineer to improve efficiencies and text recognition in the company's proprietary Hera Software. Zachary Sagendorph, from Fulton Montgomery Community College is the company's IT Support Specialist for the summer, ensuring all employees are free of any IT issues. Kathleen Kassian, from The College of Saint Rose is working in the Marketing Department to increase brand awareness to the company's five target verticals across the country.
"I started my internship with DWM in January and loved it so much that I asked if I could stay throughout the summer," said Kathleen Kassian. "Even though I’m an intern, I am 100% part of the team here at DWM; it’s an extremely rewarding feeling to know that the work I’m doing matters and that I am actually making a difference."
DWM has been able to aid the college career centers reach their goal of helping students find their place in the world and ensuring lifelong guidance and support through interview experience and job training feedback that can lead to long-term success and career opportunities.
